SPECIAL WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER EIGHTY TWO FOR FLOOD ISSUED FROM RSMC NADI AT 1.30PM ON WEDNESDAY THE 15th OF FEBRUARY 2017

FLOOD WARNING

A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND AREAS ADJACENT TO RAKIRAKI TOWN AND DOWNSTREAM OF RAKIRAKI STATION.

FLOOD ALERT

A FLOOD ALERT REMAINS INFORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS ADJACENT TO MAJOR RIVERS FOR VANUA LEVU, EASTERN HALF OF VITILEVU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

SITUATION

AN ACTIVE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WITH ASSOCIATED CLOUD AND RAIN LIES SLOW MOVING OVER THE NORTHERN PARTS OF FIJI. IT IS GRADUALLY MOVING SOUTHWARDS ONTO THE REST OF THE GROUP.

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE WHOLE OF FIJI.

LEVEL AT RAKIRAKI STATION WAS 3.38M AT 1.00PM WHICH IS 1.38M ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING.
