About FHTA

The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) is a leading industry body representing hotels, resorts, and other tourism stakeholders in Fiji. The association was established in 1965 and has since become a key voice for the tourism industry in Fiji.

The primary goal of the FHTA is to encourage and assist the growth and progress of Fiji’s tourism industry. The association collaborates with its members to recognize and tackle the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, creating effective strategies to address them.

Apart from its marketing and advocacy initiatives, the FHTA provides various services and resources to its members. These include training and development programs, industry research and analysis, and access to a network of industry peers and stakeholders.

The FHTA is dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism practices in Fiji. The association collaborates with its members to create and execute programs that promote environmental and social responsibility in the tourism industry.

Moreover, the FHTA’s membership has grown over the years and now accounts for over 80% of the total room inventory in Fiji. The association has also expanded to include other essential elements of the tourism industry, such as dive and marine operators.

The FHTA is proactive and has addressed and will continue to tackle significant concerns for the Hotel and Tourism Industry in Fiji, playing a vital role in supporting the growth and progress of Fiji’s tourism sector. By working with its members and industry partners, the FHTA is actively contributing to the development of a sustainable and flourishing tourism industry in Fiji.

Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association Regional Chapters

FHTA is divided into the following regions:

  • Suva
  • Coral Coast
  • West
  • Mamanuca/Yasawa
  • North

Regional Committees operate under the guidelines in the Articles of Association and report directly to the FHTA Board.

Regional meetings and Board meetings are usually held once a month.
