Hilton Resort Fiji Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Hilton Resort Fiji Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa is marking 20 years in Fiji this month, celebrating two decades of welcoming visitors while recognising the people whose careers and contributions have helped shape one of the country’s established tourism properties.

The resort opened its doors in 2006 and has since become part of Fiji’s tourism landscape, evolving alongside the destination while maintaining its focus on its people, guests and the spirit of Fijian hospitality.

For Hilton Fiji, the 20-year milestone is also a reflection of the people behind the operation. Among those being recognised during the anniversary celebrations are team members who have themselves reached 20 years of service with Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Their long service provides a tangible link between the resort’s beginnings in 2006 and its future, highlighting the depth of experience that exists within Fiji’s tourism workforce and the importance of retaining people and building careers within the industry.

“Reaching 20 years is a remarkable milestone for Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa, and one that belongs to our people,” says Carey Osborne, Cluster General Manager, Fiji Islands. “Our journey has been shaped by the incredible team members who have welcomed guests, created memorable experiences and shared the warmth of Fijian hospitality every day. We are proud to celebrate where we have come from, while looking ahead to the next 20 years.”

The anniversary celebrations began on 1 September and will continue throughout the month, with a special 20th anniversary logo, print, digital and social media activations, alongside a selection of anniversary food and beverage offerings across the resort.

The milestone will take on added significance during the week of 14 September with the visit of Alan Watts, Hilton’s Executive Vice President and President, Asia Pacific.

Watts leads Hilton’s Asia Pacific region, overseeing more than 2,300 hotels in operation and development across 14 brands. During his visit to Fiji, he will spend time across Hilton’s properties in Nadi and Suva, including Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island, and the upcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Suva.

The visit will provide an opportunity for Watts to meet Hilton team members and connect with owners, partners and key stakeholders as the company continues to grow its presence in Fiji.

At Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, the anniversary will also be marked with an initiative looking towards the next 20 years. Twenty trees will be planted at the resort to represent the next two decades, with a commemorative plaque and time capsule marking the occasion for future generations of team members and guests.

The initiative reflects the resort’s continued focus on sustainability while giving the anniversary a physical legacy that will remain long after the celebrations have ended.

The anniversary week will conclude with an evening celebration bringing together government dignitaries, Hilton owners, tourism partners, team members and special guests. The event will feature Fijian-inspired cuisine, live entertainment and a special guest performance, while recognising the people who have played an important role in Hilton Fiji’s 20-year journey.

The milestone comes at a time when Fiji’s tourism industry is looking towards its own next chapter, with continued investment in tourism infrastructure, people, sustainability and visitor experiences remaining important to the sector’s long-term development.

For Hilton Fiji, the past 20 years have provided a foundation for that future, with the resort continuing to invest in its people, sustainability and guest experience while contributing to the wider Hilton portfolio in Fiji.

The anniversary is ultimately a celebration of a resort, but also of the people who have made its 20-year story possible, from long-serving team members to guests, owners, partners and the wider tourism community.

As Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa looks towards its next two decades, its 20th anniversary offers a moment to recognise where the resort has come from while considering what it can continue to contribute to Fiji’s tourism industry in the years ahead.
