Fantasha Lockington is currently the Chief Executive Officer for the Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association (FHTA) based in Suva.

Ms Lockington is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors with a Masters of Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific and several IATA airline related management qualifications. In her capacity as the CEO for FHTA, she is the industry’s proponent of Government engagement for tourism businesses with strong advocacy for growth opportunities, productivity and equitable regulatory reforms.

In her varied roles with the Fiji Higher Education Commission, FNU’s NTPC Advisory Committee, Employment Relations Advisory Board, USP’s Pacific TAFE Industry Advisory Committee, Fiji Revenue & Customs Services Business Review Committee, the Fiji Commerce & Employment Federation’s Tourism & Transport Council and on the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) Board, she supports private sector consultation and collaboration to strengthen and promote resilient business environments that will ensure Fiji’s biggest industry continues to grow sustainably.

Executive Officer (EO)

Litia Mario joins us with over 10 years of administrative and management experience, following seven years working as a computer programmer.

She started with sports events management on behalf of Fiji Hockey and Oceania Hockey and continued this while working for the Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organisation and later establishing and managing the office for the Fiji College of General Practitioners.
Her most recent post was that of Corporate Services Manager for the British High Commission, Suva which saw her oversee a small staff and manage the finance, administration, human resources and property management aspects of the local operation.

Events & Operational Support Officer (EOSO)

Cheryl Fong joined the FHTA Team in 2009 as an intern after graduating from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Tourism Studies and Management & Public Administration.

As FHTA’s Operational Support Officer, Mrs Fong provides operational assistance and support to the Executive Management in addressing and achieving the Associations key strategic priorities to ensure the efficient promotion of the Association and assistance with its Membership.

She is also the person for members to get in touch with about changes to contact details, help with login updates to member listings on the FHTA website and requests to be included in FHTA email distribution lists.

Mrs Fong is also the Events Coordinator, ensuring the successful delivery of FHTA’s main events portfolio, including the annual Dive Fiji EXPO and HOTEC tradeshow and also the training coordinator responsible for the scheduling of the annual training calendar, conduct training needs assessment within the industry for Members and oversee the training function.

Finance Officer (FO)

Ms Narayan joined the FHTA Team in 2012 as Finance Officer. Her goal is to ensure that the FHTA Accounting and ICT systems enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization through accurate and timely records and reports.

Ms Narayan is responsible for establishing and maintaining financial management systems and procedures for the effective planning and implementation of FHTA activities, including program budgets and the disbursement of activity funds. She oversee all areas of finance including: Payroll, Accounts payable and receivables, Cash Management, General Ledger, FAR, Banking and Reconciliations, Yearly Budget, Monthly Board Financials and Taxation.

Ms Narayan brings more than 10 years in financial business experience to her role, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and a Fiji Institute of Accountant Course.

She is also responsible for providing information and assistance with applications for new Members to the Association.

Public Relations Officer (PRO)

Glen Vavaitamana joined FHTA as Public Relations Officer in February 2020.

Before joining FHTA, Glen worked as a Freelance Communications Consultant and Events Coordinator. He had previously worked for Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption, Fiji Television Limited and Communications Fiji Limited.

Glen’s primary role will be to manage the Association’s implementation of the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, as well as promote and maintain the visibility of the FHTA and its’ members work in tourism.
