Tambua Sands Resort, part of Warwick Hotels and Resorts, is investing in the future of Fiji’s tourism industry by offering practical training opportunities to young women from nearby villages. The programme is designed to equip participants with the skills and experience needed to excel in hospitality and tourism.
Currently, the resort is hosting two trainees. Vivita Nakwai from Namada Village, who has just completed her first year of a Diploma in Front Office Operations at Fiji National University, is already demonstrating professionalism and a strong commitment to guest service. Milika Bolakoro from Vatuakarasa Village is undertaking on-the-job training as she prepares to start tertiary studies in Human Resource Management in 2026, eager to gain a solid foundation in tourism and hospitality.
Resort Manager Angela Bob said: “We are proud to support our local communities by giving young people the training and guidance they need to succeed in tourism. Investing in our youth strengthens both the industry and the communities they come from.”
Through initiatives like this, Tambua Sands Resort continues to promote education, career development, and community empowerment, inspiring the next generation to contribute to Fiji’s thriving tourism sector.
