Job Opportunity: Head of Plant & Equipment

Tropica Island Resort is on the lookout for a talented Head of Plant & Equipment to join its dedicated #OneTeam. Based full-time on Malolo Island, this leadership role is crucial to keeping the resort’s technical infrastructure running smoothly—from powering the lights to moving people and goods on land and sea.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role is hands-on and highly impactful. You’ll oversee the operation and upkeep of key resort assets including generators, desalination systems, heavy machinery, and marine vessels. In short, you’ll be keeping the heart of the island beating.
Tropica is an adults-only boutique resort known for warm Fijian hospitality and delivering unforgettable guest experiences. Behind the scenes, that magic relies on expert technical support—and that’s where you come in.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll bring technical expertise, leadership experience, and a readiness to embrace island life. Whether your background is in mechanical or marine engineering—or you’re a qualified tradesperson with strong on-the-job experience—you’re someone who understands preventative maintenance, leads a small team confidently, and knows how to get the job done, even in the occasional downpour or parts delay.
We’re especially keen on candidates who’ve worked in remote or resort settings, and who can build great working relationships with local suppliers and communities. Safety-first thinking, a head for troubleshooting, and solid reporting skills are a must.
