The team at the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji bid their final respect to fellow team member Mr. Mokoianvanua who was laid to rest at the Sabeto Cemetery last Friday, 6th April.

Management and colleagues at the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji attended the memorial service and burial as they farewelled a kind hearted and hardworking gentleman who was victim to the latest flooding caused by TC Josie which affected the majority of the Western division in Fiji.

At the memorial service, Hotel Manager, Mr. Julien Racine and fellow colleague Finau Leggett shared a few words in honour of Mr. Mokoianvanua and his integral role at the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji family.

“I wish I could say or do something that would help the loss of Ilaisa toward his family, his colleagues and his friends. But sadly, we are all shocked and saddened by this news and can only hope that time will help,” said Julien Racine, Hotel Manager of the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji.

On the night before the burial, many of the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji team visited the village to pay their final respect while presenting the family with food and money contributions collected by the hotel to assist with the funeral in the morning. This important ceremony is called a Reguregu and transportation was supplied by the hotel bus services to take colleagues to the family home to show their support.

Executive Chef Andreas Reinhardt said Mr.Mokoianvanua was a very valuable and well respected team member in the kitchen. He displayed many positive attributes and was always reliable, hardworking and a dedicated kitchen team member here at Radisson Blu. He was popular among his team and will be sadly missed.
