Employers have no obligation to pay employees if they did not make it to work

Fijivillage, 12 April 2018 – Under the law, employers must provide work however they do not have an obligation to pay their workers if the workers for some reason cannot make it to work.

This has been highlighted by the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Jone Usamate following concerns that were raised by some employees who could not make it to work on Tuesday when all bus services were suspended across the country. Read more…
