IHG Fiji Hotels Raise FJ$15,000 for Lifeline Fiji

Friday, 12 December 2025, Natadola, Fiji – The FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels portfolio has raised FJ$15,000 for Lifeline Fiji through its November Movember campaign, supporting the organisation’s suicide prevention, counselling and men’s mental health programmes across the country.

The fundraising effort brought together colleagues, leaders and guests from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel and Holiday Inn Suva, using a mix of internal activities and guest-facing initiatives to spark conversation around men’s health and wellbeing.

Throughout the month, teams across the three hotels took part in light-hearted activities including a Fake Moustache Challenge and a Reverse Movember Beard-to-Moustache Challenge, encouraging participation while helping normalise conversations around mental health and help-seeking.

Guests were also invited to contribute through themed cocktails, spa experiences, dessert sales and Cup of Kindness coffee promotions, with all proceeds directed towards Lifeline Fiji’s services.

The campaign was delivered in partnership with Lifeline Fiji, which operates a 24-hour crisis helpline, counselling services and community-based resilience programmes. Their involvement ensured access to credible information and practical support for both colleagues and guests throughout the campaign period.

“At IHG Hotels and Resorts, we want our people to work in an environment where they feel supported and able to speak openly about their wellbeing,” said Lachlan Walker, Regional General Manager, Fiji and Pacific, IHG Hotels and Resorts. “Movember is a timely reminder of how important these conversations are. I am incredibly proud of our teams for embracing this initiative with such heart and creativity. Their commitment reflects what a caring workplace looks like in practice and reinforces the importance of checking in with one another and seeking support when it is needed.”

Walker added that the campaign aligns with IHG’s recent achievement of Global Great Place to Work Accreditation for 2025, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to colleague wellbeing.

The initiative also supports IHG Hotels and Resorts’ global wellbeing framework, which prioritises psychological safety, emotional resilience and access to support through empathetic leadership and inclusive workplace cultures.

“We are deeply grateful for the continued support from the FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels,” said Jeremaia Merekula, Director of Lifeline Fiji. “Every contribution helps us reach more people who may be experiencing distress or crisis. Awareness campaigns like Movember play a critical role in reducing stigma and encouraging men to seek help earlier. The funds raised will directly support our crisis response services and community outreach work across Fiji.”

The FJ$15,000 raised will go towards Lifeline Fiji’s crisis helpline operations, counselling services and community engagement programmes, reflecting the collective generosity of hotel colleagues and guests alike.
