FHTA Welcomes New Tourism Fiji CEO

FHTA 18 Sep 2025 – The Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association (FHTA) has welcomed the appointment of Paresh Pant as the new Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Fiji. As the national tourism marketing agency enters a new chapter of leadership, FHTA has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration that enhances Fiji’s profile as a leading global travel destination.

Tourism Fiji’s embrace of digital innovation, compelling storytelling, and strategic use of social media has, over the years, propelled the Fijian brand to international prominence. Through award-winning campaigns and market-driven insights, the organisation has showcased Fiji’s natural beauty and cultural vibrancy while positioning the destination as resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking.

FHTA has expressed confidence in building on this momentum with Mr Pant and his team, with a focus on amplifying destination marketing, deepening industry alignment, and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth. The Association underscored its ongoing commitment to ensuring that the shared vision for Fiji’s tourism reflects community voices, the ambitions of local operators, and the evolving expectations of global travellers.

In congratulating Mr Pant, FHTA extended its best wishes and emphasised its anticipation of continued innovation, impact, and shared success in the years ahead.

In response to Fiji Sun’s commentary (yesterday’s), Fantasha Lockington responded “I disagree that the industry is “in panic”. This is an industry that has been successful because it is resilient and responsive to market demands. Industry stakeholders are always vocal with their opinions in response to policy changes, government decisions or topical subject matters – and these are simply that – personal opinions. I have no doubt though that ultimately everyone understands why we must rally together for the benefit of the industry and by default  the economy”
