15th December 2023 (Suva, Fiji): In a collaborative effort, FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels, including InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva, has joined forces with Filter Supplies Pte Ltd to donate a 30kVa Diesel Three-Phase Generator to the Frank Hilton Organization in Suva, Fiji.
Frank Hilton Organization is a charitable trust dedicated to addressing the needs of children with disabilities and their families in Fiji, who operate under an early childhood development mandate. The organisation provides essential early detection and intervention services for children with disabilities and developmental delays.
The donation of the Generator, valued at over FJ$20,000, aims to support the Frank Hilton Organization in continuing its mission during power outages, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential education, rehabilitation, and medical assistance services to children in need.
Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF Owned Hotels, expressed his gratitude to Sarvesh Chetty, Director for Filter Supplies Pte Ltd, for collaborating for this impactful initiative.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to Filter Supplies Pte Ltd for their partnership in making a significant difference to the Frank Hilton Organization and the children they look after. This collaboration aligns with IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow initiatives, which commits to improving the lives of 30 million people in communities around the world,” commented Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF Owned Hotels. “We would also like to express our gratitude to our owners, the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), for their continued support in initiatives that uplift communities and create lasting positive change.”
This donation reflects FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels’ dedication to positively impacting the communities in which it operates. As part of IHG’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, the international hospitality brand is passionate about supporting organizations like the Frank Hilton Organization, ensuring that important services for children continue despite ongoing challenges with access to energy.
“As the only early detection and intervention service provider in Fiji, Frank Hilton Organization relies heavily on the support and donations of corporates and individuals to bridge the funding deficit and maintain continuity of our services to over 1000 children with disabilities and their families. The generator donated by IHG was an immediate priority identified by the FHO team. It will enable us to maintain the quality of care to the residents of the Hilton Home during power outages, especially during the cyclone season,” commented Sureni Perera, Chief Executive Officer of Frank Hilton Organization.
“The care component, including special blended meals, ensuring health, hygiene, and infection prevention, functions of nebulisers, hoists, laundry, etc., require power. During power outages, there is a huge disruption to services, requiring caregivers to manually manage these functions. This is a significant strain on the caregivers and an additional cost to management for additional labour required. The generator will mitigate this issue and is a timely Christmas gift to us. We are immensely thankful to the IHG Hotels & Resorts Team, who have been very thoughtful and accommodating during the process, understanding our needs, and most of all, considering the needs of the children under our care.”
