American Airlines co-pilot dies following a mid-flight medical emergency

The Sydney Morning Herald  Friday 31 March 2017  The captain of an American Airlines flight safely landed a plane on Wednesday afternoon after his co-pilot died in the cockpit minutes before landing, according to an airline official.

Flight 1353 was two miles from Albuquerque International Sunport in New Mexico when the captain declared an emergency, citing a “medical issue” aboard shortly after 3.30pm local time, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman.  Read more…
