SIS leaders discuss air services, labour

Fiji Times Wednesday 06 September 2017  RECOMMENDATIONS on air services, labour mobility and initiatives that seek to bring countries closer together are some of the topics that will be discussed at the 27th Smaller Island States (SIS) Leaders’ meeting in progress in Apia, Samoa.

This was revealed by Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat secretary general Dame Meg Taylor at the opening of the SIS meeting.

Dame Meg said this also presented the possibility of joint-SIS proposals to the Green Climate Fund, an initiative which would require great co-operation, co-ordination and collaboration between the secretariat and the respective administrations.

“In presenting the first annual progress report on the SIS Regional Strategy 2016-2020, I hope to shed some light on how we are facilitating the intentions of the strategy through regional co-operation,” she said.  Read more…
