The World Tourism Organisation has published the 2019 edition of the International Tourism Highlights.
Some highlights of the report are:
- International tourist arrivals grew by 5% in 2018 to reach 1.4 billion which was 2 years ahead of the UNWTO forecast figure.
- Interesting to note that Asia and the Pacific recorded the highest growth in arrivals as well as above-average growth in tourism earnings.
- Tourism generates USD 5 billion a day in exports.
