Tomasi Turukawa, an esteemed figure with more than 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, has been appointed as the General Manager of the luxurious Nanuku Resort Fiji under the management of Storey Hotel Management.
Tomasi Turukawa, a native of Navuevu Village, brings a wealth of local knowledge and expertise to his new role. Having served previously as Nanuku’s Director of Rooms and then as Resort Manager, Turukawa is well-prepared to take on the responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day operations, management, training, and guest satisfaction at the resort. In his new capacity, Turukawa is tasked with supervising the daily operations of the property, including managing the hotel’s executive team and more than 200 Fijian employees. Turukawa’s outstanding leadership skills and strategic vision were evident in his previous role as Resort Manager, making him the perfect candidate for this position.

Tomasi Turukawa’s journey in the hospitality industry began with his studies in Tour Wholesaling and Resource Professional at the Fiji National University. He has since garnered experience at esteemed establishments such as Six Senses, Likuliku, Vomo, and Warwick Fiji, before joining Nanuku Resort Fiji in 2021. Outside of work, Turukawa enjoys activities like spearfishing, mountain hiking, watching rugby, and spending quality time with his family, particularly relishing home-cooked chicken stew from his mother or wife. He draws inspiration from the words of Thomas A. Edison, who famously said, “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to always try just one more time.”
