Nadi, Fiji – Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is thrilled to announce its partnership with World Surf League (WSL), as one of the official accommodation partners for the highly anticipated 2024 Corona Fiji Pro scheduled from 20th to 29th August 2024. Returning to Fiji for the first time since 2017, the final event of the regular nine destinations surf season will witness the world’s best surfers converging on the iconic Cloudbreak, where they’ll vie for a coveted spot in the WSL Final 5. Cloudbreak, located off the island of Tavarua in Fiji, boasts a globally acclaimed reef pass and is renowned for its breathtaking left-hand barrels, capable of handling waves ranging from 2 to 20 feet. Due to its rapid and powerful nature, it is recognized as an exceptionally challenging and intense wave.

With its close proximity of a 20 minute boat ride to the world class Cloudbreak, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, renowned for its premier rooms, delectable dining, a host of recreational activities and commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences, is ideally matched for the world-class surfing action that the 2024 Corona Fiji Pro brings to the iconic waves of Cloudbreak.

As the official accommodation partner, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay will play a pivotal role in hosting officials and international media throughout the duration of the 2024 Corona Fiji Pro.

Leveraging its state-of-the-art facilities, top-notch amenities, and welcoming Fijian hospitality, the resort is positioned to elevate the overall experience for all participants in this esteemed surfing event.

“We are honored to be chosen by WSL as an official accommodation partner for the 2024 Corona Fiji Pro. Our resort is nestled in one of the most breathtaking locations in Fiji, and we are excited to welcome the world’s top surfers and enthusiasts to experience the beauty and warmth of Momi Bay for the opening and closing functions for the event,” said Silvano Dressino, General Manager of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

The resort’s commitment to sustainability and engagement with the local community mirrors the shared values with WSL, resulting in a synergy that enriches the overall championship experience.

Silvano Dressino, the General Manager at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, expressed this alignment, stating, “One of our core values is to Serve Our World. We believe in making the
communities where we operate better places to live, work, and visit. Through this partnership, we are directly supporting the resilience and sustainable development of these communities as WSL’s return to Fiji is making a positive impact on the community. It is boosting the economy, creating jobs, fostering local pride, and promoting environmental conservation.”

Additionally, the WSL has collaborated closely with the Fiji Government, Tourism Fiji, and the local communities of Tabanivono I Wai (Nabila and Momi villages) to reconstruct the Cloudbreak judging tower that was demolished during Cyclone Harold in 2021. The rebuilding of the structure reflects WSL’s dedication to goodwill and support for the local communities.

“WSL is excited to partner with Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay for the upcoming 2024 Corona Fiji Pro,” said WSL APAC President Andrew Stark. “It is an incredible resort with stunning surroundings and is located only a stone’s throw from Cloudbreak, where the event will take place.

All of this, combined with the resort’s commitment to excellence, will make for an unforgettable experience at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay during the 2024 Corona Fiji Pro.”
