Fiji Sun 18 October 2017 Fiji Airways has a number of Boeing 737 aircrafts that will continue to service flights out of Suva.
This after their smaller Boeing 737-700 enroute from Kiritimati (Christmas) Island in Kiribati to Honolulu, Hawaii on October 10 experienced a loss of pressurisation because of an engine air-system fault.
This 737-700 is regularly used for international flights between Suva and Auckland and Sydney.
Executive general manager, Fiji Link and Group Corporate, International and Government Affairs Shaenaz Voss said: “We continue to service all our flights including our services from Suva.
“Our engineering teams are still working on the aircraft with Boeing to determine the cause of the fault and all associated factors, before undertaking a thorough rectification programme to return it to serviceability.
“The aircraft will only return to commercial service once that process is concluded and it’s cleared for operations by the Fiji Airways and Boeing teams.
“The safety of our guests and crew remains our top priority. We apologise to our customers to disruptions they have experienced as a result of this.” Read more…
