World Sustainable Development Summit held in India

Fiji Sun, Feb 17 – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi singled out Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, at the World Sustainable Development Summit in New Delhi, India.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum was one of the select few chosen by Mr Modi to sit with him.

Information from New Delhi said: The 2018 World Summit organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) builds on the annual sustainable development conferences in India since 2001 and the India-Pacific Island Sustainable Development Conference held in Suva in June 2017.

The three-day Summit will see the participation of over 41 countries bringing together different stakeholders in the fields of sustainable development, energy and environment sectors with participation of over 2000 delegates from across the globe to discuss challenges faced by developing countries due to climate change.

The Indian Prime Minister addressed the inaugural ceremony on Friday in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
