Update Fri March 30th – THE Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) is monitoring a Tropical Disturbance located about 600kilometres west of Nadi.
Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) director Ravind Kumar said TD12F was expected to move southeast towards the Fiji Group and bring heavy rain and strong winds.
It is expected to intensify into a Tropical Depression, and has a moderate to high chance of developing into a Tropical Cyclone in the next 72 hours.
Meanwhile, a strong wind warning is in force for land areas of Northern Vanua Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Western and Northern Viti Levu, Lomaiviti Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
A flood warning is also in force for the low lying areas and small streams from Vatukacevaceva Station to Rakiraki Town and is now in force for low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent from Dreketilailai Station to Qawa River.
