Water Disruption Notice – Western Division, 1st April 2018

Water Authority of Fiji

01 April 2018The Water Authority of Fiji wishes to advise its customers living in Rakiraki, Tavua and Ba and Parts of Lautoka areas that they will be experiencing low water pressure to no water from this afternoon Sunday (01/04) until further notice.

The interruption in the water supply is a result of low reservoir level at the Water Treatment Plants and service reservoirs supplying to these areas.

This is caused by flood waters damaging pipelines and pump stations and also unplanned power disruptions caused by FEA maintenance work.

Due to the continuous heavy rain since last night, WAF engineers have not been able to access these areas due to flooding.

Repairs will be carried out and water supply will be normalized once the flood waters subside to allow WAF crew members to access the affected areas. The restoration operation will depend on the weather conditions.

Therefore, the authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the Western Division to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this disruption period.

Water carting trucks will be on standby to service the affected areas as and when the need arises.

The Authority also wishes to advise its customers to boil all drinking water.

The Authority highly regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers.

For further inquiries, customers can call 3346777 or 5777 (Vodafone, Digicel & Inkk users) or email contact@waf.com.fj.
