Tree-planting to mark tourism day

Fiji Times Thursday 28 September 2017  TOURISM Fiji celebrated World Tourism Day by planting 30 trees at Nadi School for Special Education yesterday.

Led by CEO Matthew Stoeckel, 18 Tourism Fiji staff members took part in the tree-planting event.

The team planted sandalwood, mahogany and lemon trees in support of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism’s tree-planting initiative to encourage sustainable tourism development.

“This year is the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development and bearing that in mind, we are happy to support the Government’s initiative to highlight this event as well as contribution to the school,” said Mr Stoeckel.  Read more…
