Marriott Fiji brings in Renowned Chocolatier

Nadi, Fiji – April X, 2024 – Janice Wong, an award-winning, renowned chocolatier, artist and chef, is taking her culinary offering to the islands of  Fiji, this May in partnership with Marriott International Fiji Hotels. Janice will be collaborating with two of Fiji’s premium resorts, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort promising a series of exclusive guest dinner events and one of her world-class chocolate art installations.

With a career spanning close to two decades, Singaporean-based Janice Wong has been marked by innovation and creativity with her eclectic installations. She has previously created the world’s largest chocolate exhibition in Mexico and has pioneered incredible edible art and 3D-printed chocolates.

Janice Wong said: “Chocolate art and dessert to me is always about evoking the five senses and pushing the boundaries. It’s about creating an experience where guests can not only see and taste the art but also feel its textures and immerse themselves in its cultural narratives.

“I am thrilled to partner with Marriott International Fiji Hotels, working with the local teams, learning new cultural techniques and immersing myself in the vibrant culture Fiji has to offer.”

From May 4 – May 8, Janice will be at Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort where guests will be able to experience her culinary genius firsthand. Janice will host a Sip & Paint event on May 5th, a five-course dinner event with the Resort’s Chef de’ Cuisine Dante at Tatavu Grill & Bar on May 6th, a live culinary showcase at an elite cocktail at the Resort’s popular outdoor venue.

From May 9 to May 14 the partnership will see Janice take over Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay’s outlets with an exclusive cocktail event at the Resort’s Lagoon Lounge on May 9th and a champagne dinner event at Fish Bar on May 11th, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and featuring delectable desserts from Janice Wong, herself. Janice Wong will also be hosting a chocolate painting class on May 12th to celebrate Mother’s Day.

In addition to the events across both Resorts, Janice will launch an ongoing menu item at Tatavu Grill & Bar and Fish Bar, available from May 4th to August 31 and delivered by the restaurant’s culinary teams. Built over a week, Wong will also develop one of her famous chocolate art installations, utilising 20 kg of chocolate from local Fiji brands Vanua and KokoMana and salt from South Seas Salt promising to captivate guests with its intricate designs and locally inspired flavours.
