Denarau Island, Fiji, July 10, 2024 – At the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji, the RHG values of Think People, Community, and Planet are upheld daily as part of their commitment to responsible business practices. Recently, the resort successfully completed several Responsible Business initiatives in Nadi and even traveled to Bukuya Village, deep in the interior of Viti Levu. The dedicated team, led by Satya Narayan (Responsible Business Manager), along with enthusiastic resort guests, engaged in meaningful activities to support and uplift the local community.
Staff Health Check
At Radisson Blu Resort Fiji, the health of their people is a top priority. A comprehensive staff health check was conducted to ensure the well-being of team members. This initiative is a crucial part of their commitment to promoting healthy living and maintaining a productive work environment.
Blood Drive Donation
The resort organized a blood drive aimed not only at looking after staff health but also at giving back to the community. This event allowed employees to contribute to a vital cause, showcasing the resort’s dedication to social responsibility and community support.
Village School Cooking Class
During the visit to Bukuya Village, Chef Walter and his culinary team conducted an interactive cooking session where children learned valuable cooking skills in a fun and engaging environment. The session was followed by a delicious lunch provided by the resort, bringing joy and nourishment to the children. Areas for improvement were noted during the visit, and there are plans for donations later this year.
Saint Mina’s Children’s Home
Radisson Blu Resort extended its efforts to Saint Mina’s Children’s Home. Throughout the week, dedicated engineering and landscaping staff built a greenhouse for the home and prepared the soil for planting vegetables. Volunteers, including staff and resort guests, came together to build a garden aimed at promoting sustainable living. This initiative provided the children with a hands-on experience in gardening and educated them on the importance of fresh food and self-sufficiency. The garden will serve as a long-term resource for the children, fostering a sense of responsibility and a connection to nature.
“We are deeply committed to giving back to our community and fostering sustainable practices,” said Charles Homsy, General Manager of Radisson Blu Resort Fiji. “These initiatives reflect our ongoing dedication to responsible business and the positive impact we aim to have on the lives of those around us.”
Radisson Blu Resort Fiji is dedicated to continuing their Responsible Business initiatives, ensuring a positive contribution to the community and environment. Heartfelt thanks are extended to all staff and guests who participated and made these initiatives a success.
