Fiji Times Saturday 30 September 2017 INTERNATIONAL human rights body, Amnesty International says Fijian civil servants have the right to strike in order to seek improved working conditions without penalty or reprisal.
Amnesty International’s Pacific researcher Kate Schuetze said in order to develop a strong and productive economy with consumer confidence, the rights of workers must be respected by the Fijian Government.
“Fiji’s civil servants have the right to strike and to seek improved working conditions without penalty or reprisal,” she said.
“Recent attempts to restrict these freedoms are alarming.”
