Taxpayer education to improve tax compliance

Fiji Times Wednesday 12 April 2017  BUSINESSES and corporate houses should expect a visit from the tax authority in the coming weeks as part of its taxpayer education outreach.

A media release from the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority said as part of their program their taxpayer education team had so far visited banks, hardware companies, educational institutions, employers federation, TLTB and others to provide technical assistance and advise them on tax and Customs laws.

FRCA chief executive officer Visvanath Das said as the agency responsible for tax administration in Fiji, their aim was to increase public awareness on taxation and the initiative was an excellent way to start engaging with taxpayers as well as to ignite an interest in areas of voluntary compliance.  Read more…
