CORAL COAST, FIJI – 18 September 2026: Tambua Sands Beach Resort brought recognition, learning and Fijian celebration together today as it marked Housekeeping Week with a special programme honouring the people behind every beautifully prepared guest villa.
The celebration began at 3:00pm with a proud team march, setting an energetic tone for an afternoon dedicated to the resort’s hardworking housekeeping team.
A lively bed-making competition followed, putting the team’s speed, precision and attention to detail to the test. The housekeepers then demonstrated their creativity during a towel-art challenge, transforming simple linen into beautiful guest-room displays.
More than a celebration, the programme was also designed as a practical learning experience.
Resort Manager Angela Bob led interactive guest-service scenarios and a housekeeping knowledge quiz covering important areas such as respecting “Do Not Disturb” signs, entering occupied villas, handling lost property, reporting damaged furniture, treating stains, responding to guest complaints and using cleaning chemicals safely.
The team was presented with realistic situations and asked to explain how they would respond.
This encouraged confidence, teamwork and discussion while reinforcing Tambua Sands’ standards for safety, cleanliness and guest care.
Speaking during the celebration, Ms Bob paid tribute to the team: “Housekeeping is the heartbeat of every successful resort. Guests may not always see the work happening behind the scenes, but they experience it in every clean villa, every carefully made bed and every thoughtful finishing touch.
“You do much more than clean rooms. You create comfort, protect our standards and shape the first impression guests receive when they open their villa door. Your work can turn an ordinary stay into a beautiful memory.
“Today, we proudly place you at the centre of our celebration. Thank you for your dedication, your teamwork and the pride you bring to Tambua Sands every day. You are our housekeeping heroes, and we are very proud of you.”
The afternoon concluded with a thanksgiving kava ceremony, cake cutting and a beautiful Fijian style high tea, giving the team time to relax, celebrate and enjoy the occasion together.
For Tambua Sands, Housekeeping Week was not only an opportunity to say thank you. It was also a reminder that outstanding guest experiences begin with valued employees who are given opportunities to learn, grow and take pride in their profession.
