SPECIAL WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER SEVENTY NINE FOR FLOOD ISSUED FROM RSMC NADI AT 05.30AM ON WEDNESDAY THE 15th OF FEBRUARY 2017

FLOOD ALERT

A FLOOD ALERT IS NOW IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND AREAS ADJACENT TO RAKIRAKI TOWN AND DOWNSTREAM OF RAKIRAKI STATION.

A FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS ADJACENT TO MAJOR RIVERS FOR VANUA LEVU, EASTERN HALF OF VITILEVU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

SITUATION

A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE REMAINS SLOW MOVING OVER FIJI. MEANWHILE, ANOTHER TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WITH ASSOCIATED CLOUD AND RAIN JUST TO THE NORTH OF FIJI IS GRADUALLY DRIFTING SOUTH TOWARDS THE GROUP.

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR EASTERN HALF OF VITI LEVU, YASAWA GROUP, VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE REST OF FIJI.
