Rise of the Fashion Sector

Fiji Times Tuesday 26 September 2016  OVER the past few years, Fiji’s fashion industry had begun to gain traction as evidenced by the growing number of established and young emerging designers and models.

This also includes make-up and hair artistes, professional photographers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers that support this lucrative but nascent industry.

However exciting days remain ahead for the local fashion industry with the spur fashion businesses throughout the country.

An example of this is Palm Court situated along Victoria Parade in Suva, which has emerged as a mini fashion hub housing several fashion business and retail outlets such as Pacific Islands Art (PIA), Aladdin’s Cave, 8mountains and RFx Boutique.

And not far away, a new boutique shop has opened operated by prominent local designer Samson Lee featuring designers Zelda Thomas and Naina Sayed-Khaiyum.  Read more…
