Italian Cuisine at The Fijian

Italian Cuisine at The Fijian

Fiji Sun, Mon 5th March – Italian Chef Bruno Bettinazzi is passionate about Italian food and he loves to cook home made pasta, one of the specialities on offer at the newly re-opened Golden Cowrie Coastal Italian restaurant at The Fijian Resort.

He said: “Passion and creativity and fresh produce are important elements of cooking Italian food.”

It’s the skills he has honed over the years, first in his native Italy, at luxury Swiss restaurants and a stint in Singapore that he now brings to Fiji.

Chef Bruno started last year in December. Italian cuisine now, he says, is a mix of different regions in Italy and here in Fiji typical products that may be found include vegetables, fish, meat, tomatoes and a selection of imported items like a selection of cheese and salami.

If you are fan of Italian food then one of the must places to visit is the Golden Cowrie Coastal Italian Restaurant.

Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa is the largest and most complete private, coral island resort in Fiji that caters mainly to holiday makers.

Anyone can enjoy a variety of great Italian classics with latest addition to their food and beverage family at the restaurant.

It is an adults-only breakfast venue (reserved for guests aged 16 years and above) where you can enjoy both breakfast and dinner.

The restaurant showcases Italian classic dishes and a range of home made pasta and seafood and beef.

The recently reopened Beach Bar & Grill is a great casual dining restaurant and a favourite spot for beach lovers. The al fresco dining area overlooks the resort’s magnificent lagoon and lagoon pool area.

Meanwhile, the Golden Cowrie Lounge is a one of its kind and serves classic cocktails with a local twist.

Coral Coast is also best known for being one of the first areas in Fiji that was developed for tourism.

Although it has developed over the years with a bustling Sigatoka town growing to meet the demands of an expanding population, the area retains its rural charm and is a treasure trove of untouched places to visit and enjoy.
