Industry benefits from tradeshow
THE hotel industry stands to gain from the 2019 HOTEC Tradeshow, says Tourism Fiji CEO Matthew Stoeckel.
After touring the 52 booths on display at the tradeshow on Denarau Island yesterday, Mr Stoeckel said the trade show played an important part in growing Fiji’s tourism industry.
“I have to congratulate FHTA (Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association) for what looks like to be another fantastic HOTEC,” he said.
“They found 11 new organisations to come and showcase their products which is a great thing for our stakeholders.
“I encourage all of our partners to visit the tradeshow and experience what the association has in store for everyone.
“Tradeshows are really important because it opens up new opportunities for networking and partnerships.”
Minister for Tourism Premila Kumar added that the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association had made great strides in putting together another successful two-day exhibit.
“To the organisers, the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association, I commend your commitment and efforts to continually host this platform for the benefit of your members and the greater tourism industry,” she said.
“Government will continue to support such platforms to ensure continued growth of Fiji’s tourism industry.”
Major sponsors of the event include Sheraton Fiji Resort, Vision Investments Ltd, Fiji Times Ltd, Fiji Watyer, Sharma Music Centre and Fiji Coffee.
