Fiji Times Wednesday 27 September 2017 FOR many in the private sector, the concept of community engagement is still being tried and tested, particularly those that rely on resource owners in fisheries, agriculture, craft and tour operators.
And the level of understanding business from a community’s perspective also varies greatly on how they operate, engage and communicate with businesses.
This notion was the focus of a study conducted by the Australian Government-funded Market Development Facility (MDF), which looked at how iTaukei villages connected and managed business relationships in Fiji.
Conducted in May to June this year, the study also sought to unpack the dynamics of the relationship and makes recommendations that will map out key steps to guide businesses on how to commercially engage with Fijian villages. Read more…
