IHG Fiji hotels & resorts supported International Childhood Cancer Day by donating all coffee sales to WOWS Kids Fiji, a non-profit charity for children with cancer.
28th February 2023 (Natadola, Fiji): IHG Hotels and Resorts in Fiji, comprising of InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel and Holiday Inn Suva, demonstrated their commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating all coffee sales on International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) to WOWS Kids Fiji. International Childhood Cancer Day is a global collaborative campaign that aims to raise awareness and express support for children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors, and their families. IHG Hotels & Resorts in Fiji joined the worldwide movement by donating to WOWS Kids Fiji, a non-profit charity foundation for children with cancer in Fiji.
“This is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness for such an important cause on International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD). The donation will support WOWS Kids Fiji in its ongoing efforts to provide support for children with cancer and their families in Fiji. This initiative aligns with IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow goals, which aims to improve the lives of 30 million people in our communities worldwide.”, commented Lachlan Walker, Area General – South Pacific, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.
WOWS Kids Fiji (WKF) collaborates closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to coordinate and provide support for families with children living with cancer in their journey. The organisation also aims to raise awareness of childhood cancer issues in the country and supports children from other Pacific Island nations that come to Fiji for cancer treatment.
“We’re incredibly grateful for this valuable partnership with IHG Hotels in Fiji. Your assistance will enable us to continue to provide the much-needed health care and support for our children living with cancer,” commented Team Leader, WOWS Kids Fiji, Mere Lutuciri Williams. “Thank you for recognising the importance of giving back to the community. Your cash donation is certainly going to make a difference in the lives of our vulnerable children.”
Guided by IHG’s purpose to provide True Hospitality for Good, the hotel chain is committed to working side by side with those who stay, work, and partner with them to help shape the future of responsible travel while supporting people and making a positive difference in local communities.
