Nadi, Fiji – 30 October 2024 – Hilton properties in Fiji, Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji, Sonaisali Island, welcomed students, job seekers, and esteemed guests today for the Hilton Fiji Career’s Day, an event designed to introduce young Fijians to the dynamic and rewarding world of hospitality. Hosted at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, the event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Land owners community Narewa Village, the Fiji Higher Education Commission, the Technical & Vocational Education Training Team (TVET), various industry partners and institutions such as Fiji National University, Ferguson Education, Pivot Point Institute, FIT College and students from over 10 different secondary, vocational schools and universities including Naitasiri Secondary, Tavua College, LDS College, Ratu Navula, Ba Pro from Lautoka, Fiji National University students from Nasese, Labasa and Namaka .
The Honorable Aseri Radrodro, Minister for Education, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in shaping Fiji’s workforce. “Education is not confined to the walls of a classroom. It extends to digital platforms, experiential learning, and real-world applications. Today’s event reaffirms our commitment to building resilient Fijians who are ready to thrive in an ever-evolving world,” remarked the Hon. Radrodro. He also thanked Hilton Fiji properties for their partnership in advancing education and lifelong learning opportunities through events like Career’s Day and look forward to forging continued partnership in the future.
