Hilton Fiji Marks Clean Up Day by Adopting Cemetery

Nadi, Fiji – 19 September 2025 – As part of Hilton’s global Travel with Purpose commitment, Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa proudly joined millions around the world in celebrating World Clean Up Day by officially adopting and maintaining the Nadi Cemetery on Enamanu Road, Nadi.

On Friday, 19 September, 24 team members from Hilton Fiji volunteered two hours of their time to clean and maintain the cemetery grounds. The team collected 15 bags of rubbish and carried out mowing, cutting, raking, weed control and insecticide spraying to restore dignity and care to this important community site.

This initiative represents the beginning of Hilton Fiji’s long-term partnership with the Nadi Town Council, with the resort pledging to maintain and upkeep the cemetery on a regular basis. The adoption is led by Hilton Fiji’s Blue Energy Committee, which champions community engagement, environmental stewardship, and sustainability efforts across Fiji.

“We are proud to kickstart our cemetery adoption initiative on World Clean Up Day. At Hilton, we believe in taking meaningful action to support our communities and environment. This is more than just a one-day clean up, it’s about keeping Fiji clean and beautiful — it’s also a long-term commitment to maintaining a place of cultural and historical importance for the people of Nadi,” said Carey Osborne, Cluster General Manager of Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Hilton’s Travel with Purpose program focuses on driving responsible travel and tourism globally, with initiatives across all Hilton Properties highlighting sustainability, cultural preservation, and positive social impact.
