Fiji Welcomes Over 250 Visitors for Ocean Swim 2025

Fiji, 19 May 2025 – World-Class Open Water Swim Experience to Showcase Fiji’s beauty and hospitality. Fiji is set to make a splash on the international sporting calendar once again as it welcomes more than 250 swimmers and supporters from around the world for Ocean Swim Fiji – Stay & Swim, taking place from 19–23 May 2025. This unique event, hosted across some of Fiji’s most breathtaking resorts and islands, blends competitive open-water swimming with luxury hospitality and world-famous Fijian culture.

Now in its latest edition, Ocean Swim Fiji brings significant economic and tourism benefits to the nation, with five days of activity spread across Denarau Island, Malamala Beach Club and Tivua Island.

The event promotes Fiji not only as a world-class swim destination, but also as the ideal location for active holidays, family travel, and international events.

This year’s event will be extra special, with three high-profile Kiwi personalities joining the swim and soaking up the Fijian experience:

– Dame Sophie Pascoe, New Zealand’s greatest Paralympian, will attend as a special guest and ocean swim ambassador. With 19 Paralympic medals to her name—including 11 gold—Dame Sophie is an inspiration on and off the water and will be encouraging swimmers and fans alike throughout the event.

– Wendy Petrie, beloved former TVNZ news anchor, brings her journalistic flair and deep connection to New Zealand audiences to the event. Wendy will be on hand to cover the experience and engage with participants, highlighting the warmth and hospitality of Fiji.

– Jordan Watson, better known as ‘How to Dad’, is a social media powerhouse with over 5 million followers worldwide. Known for his humorous takes on parenting and New Zealand culture, Jordan will be capturing and sharing the magic of Ocean Swim Fiji across his platforms—introducing millions to the spirit of the islands.
