11 March 2020: Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, has today announced it is increasing Economy Class checked baggage allowance from 23kg to 30kg. All passengers can now enjoy an extra 7kg of checked baggage for all Fiji Airways international flights.
The new 30kg checked baggage allowance is perfect for families or those who are travelling with a lot of gear, whether it be shopping, sporting or photography equipment. The new allowance also applies to flights onwards to/from the USA to or via Nadi, where Economy Class guests are able to take one (1) piece at 30 kg (approx. 66 lbs).
Fiji Airways Managing Director & CEO Mr. Andre Viljoen said, “We encourage and constantly receive feedback from guests on all aspects of our Customer Experience. One of the most common requests has been for more baggage allowance in Economy Class. So, in the lead-up to International Day of Happiness 2020, we’re delighted to announce a 7kg increase in Economy Class baggage allowance across our international network. Our service vision for 2020 is to Make Every Moment Better, and we strongly believe the increased Economy baggage allowance will help us deliver on this objective.
“Last year, Fiji Airways welcomed two new Airbus A350 XWB aircraft to the fleet to allow for a more luxurious inflight experience for our guests. We were also proud to receive a Skytrax 4 Star rating and be awarded Best Airline Cabin Crew in Australia Pacific. We want to continue this momentum in 2020, and offer our guests even better travel experiences,” added Mr Viljoen.
This 30kg Economy Class baggage allowance included in all Economy fares and is effective for all tickets purchased on or after 5 March 2020. Business Class baggage allowance remains unchanged. Details are available on the Fiji Airways website.
