FETA reduces ticket prices ahead of annual awards

FETA 9 March 2020 – The trustees of the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA) have decided to reduce the
price of tickets for the annual awards which will be held this Saturday at the Sofitel Fiji
Resort and Spa.

FETA Trustees Chair Bill Whiting said a number of factors had to be considered which
resulted in the trustees agreeing to reduce the ticket prices.

“We are all aware of the global travel restrictions in light of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Visitor numbers have slowed down due to current outbreak which is affecting the whole
world,” Whiting said.

“As a gesture of support to the tourism industry we are reducing the price of tickets. Ticket
prices have been brought down from $200 to $150 each, the price for a table from $2,000
to $1,500. Those who have already purchased tickets will be getting a refund to the new
price.
“In fact we are almost sold out with only a few tables left however the Trustees felt that it
was only the right thing to do given the current environment.”

The finalists for the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards were revealed last week.
Winners for the 13 categories and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement and Visionary
Award will be announced during the awards this Saturday.

“The number of entries for the 2019 ANZ FETA was one of the highest in recent years and
the judges would have had a tough time narrowing it down to the finalists. The trustees
would like to congratulate everyone that has made the finalists list as we count down to the
annual awards this Saturday,” Whiting said.

The ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards is recognised as a mark of excellence in Fiji’s
tourism and promotes excellence in tourism. The theme for this year’s awards night is
Celebrating Tourism Excellence in Our People and Product.
