FHTA Welcomes SPTO as Silver Sponsor for HOTEC 2026

THURSDAY 26 MARCH 2026 – The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) has confirmed the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) as a Silver Sponsor for HOTEC 2026, Fiji’s national hospitality and tourism tradeshow. The partnership is supported through the funding from the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme’s (SPREP) Australian Government funded Pacific Ocean Litter Project.

Organised by FHTA, HOTEC is an industry-led platform that connects suppliers directly with tourism operators and decision-makers from Fiji and the wider Pacific. The tradeshow is designed to facilitate targeted business engagement, strengthen industry networks, and support knowledge exchange through a structured programme of conference sessions.

As a Silver Sponsor, SPTO will lead Day One of the HOTEC conference programme, bringing a regional lens to discussions and aligning sessions with shared priorities across Pacific destinations. SPTO will also maintain a presence on the exhibition floor, engaging directly with operators and industry stakeholders throughout the event.

FHTA CEO Fantasha Lockington said the partnership strengthens the regional relevance of HOTEC while keeping the focus on practical outcomes for industry.

“HOTEC is built around the needs of operators, and that means keeping discussions grounded in real challenges and workable solutions. SPTO’s involvement brings a broader regional perspective into that space, which is critical as many of the issues we face are shared across the Pacific. Having them lead the first day of the conference ensures those conversations are focused, relevant, and useful to the businesses on the ground,” Lockington said.

SPTO Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cocker said the organisation values the opportunity to contribute to an industry platform that connects regional priorities with practical application.

“HOTEC provides an important space to engage directly with industry stakeholders and support the exchange of ideas that can strengthen tourism across the Pacific. Through this partnership, and with the support of the Pacific Ocean Litter Project, we look forward to contributing to discussions that support a more sustainable and resilient sector,” Cocker said.
