Environmental problems are ‘man-made’

Fiji Times Tuesday 26 September 2017  CYCLONES, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes are not natural disasters, they are man-made, says environmental committee chairman of the Sathya Sai International Organisation, Dr Anopam Ganguli.

“The problems that we are causing now to the environment are all man-made,” he said.

“We call things like hurricanes, cyclones, earthquakes and floods natural disasters, but we are the reason these disasters occur.”

Speaking during a press conference at the National Convention of the Sathya Sai Service Organisation of Fiji in Ba over the weekend, the environmental scientist said prayers were an effective way of combatting climate change.

“We are a spiritual and service organisation and one of our goals is to build spirituality into all our work, including work on the environment,” he said.

“One of the teachings of our founder Sathya Sai Baba is to care for the environment and one of the ways we can do that is through prayers.  Read more…
