Cynthia Rasch First Internationally Certified Marina Manager in Fiji and the Pacific Islands

Port Denarau Marina, 01 March 2019 – It is with great pleasure that Port Denarau Marina announces the global accreditation of their General Manager, Cynthia Rasch as a Certified Marina Manager (CMM). Cynthia was awarded this certification in late January by Marina Industries Association. She is the first in Fiji and the Pacific Island to hold this qualification.

CMMs represent the elite in the marina and recreational boating industry. They value true personal and professional excellence and strive to maintain the highest levels of ethical and moral conduct in their commitment to the marina industry. There are a total of 31 CMMs globally.

Cynthia’s journey towards her accreditation started in 2013 undergoing rigorous education and training developed by the national and international marina industry and meeting specific experience requirements. Doing all of that extra work while continuing in her full-time position and studies was extremely ambitious and took a lot of effort and dedication on her part and we are proud of her achievements.

With more than a decade of work experience in the telecommunications industry working for Vodafone and Digicel, Cynthia raised among ranks to become Regional Manager at Digicel Fiji prior to making the industry leap to maritime to join Port Denarau Marina.

Until June 2017, Cynthia was the Business Manager of Port Denarau Marina before taking the lead role as General Manager. She has been integrally involved in shaping the company’s strategic direction for many years and her initiatives have had positive impact on multiple business areas.

Of her achievement Cynthia had this to say “I am thankful to Nigel Skeggs for recognising my potential and for believing in my abilities and grateful to the Board of Directors for giving me autonomy and flexibility to achieve my goals. I will always be thankful to my family for being my support system and helping me pursue my dreams. The maritime industry is conventionally a man’s world, many women fear to join this industry as a profession. However, I believe fear is nothing but a figment of our imagination. If you believe in yourself and if you have a strong determination, trust me, nothing is unachievable. The maritime industry is such an exciting industry to work for and I am enthusiastic to grow and contribute to this sector with my professional training.”

Cynthia is a graduate of the Leadership Development Program and currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Business Administration.

We are extremely proud of her and in knowing that this achievement will make such a positive difference in the industry.
