Consultations on Passenger Levy

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) is an independent Fijian statutory authority whose role is to enforce the FCCC Act 2010, promoting competition, fair trading, regulating prices in markets where competition is lessened or limited, and regulating monopolistic market situations including national infrastructure for the benefit of all Fijians.

The local marina fees and charges are price controlled by FCCC under the FCCC (Control of Prices for Marina Management Services for Passengers on Commercial Ships and Cargo Transportation) Order 2018. Based on the submission made by Port Denarau Marina Limited (PDML) for the review of the Passenger Levy, FCCC had carried out its independent assessment and would like to convene the Final Stakeholder Consultation Session prior to finalizing the revised passenger levy for PDML.  Please note, this consultation aims to provide stakeholders a platform to convey concerns on the rationale behind the passenger levy, the required improvements and deliberate on the proposal for an increase in the passenger levy sought by PDML.
