Fiji Times, 21 March – STUDENTS doing attachment work as per requirements for graduation are at the mercy of employers whether they will be paid or not.
Responding to questions raised during the North Employers Forum, Employment Minister Jone Usamate said he was aware that those registered with the National Employment Centre and working on attachment were paid $60 allowance on a weekly basis.
Mr Usamate said half of the pay would be paid by the employer while the other half would be paid by the centre. Read more…
