Fiji Sun Tuesday 05 September 2017  Letters – Tukai Lagonilakeba, Nadi

Vinaka vakalevu to the Fiji Sun’s anti-litter campaign team for exposing the irresponsible dumping of rubbish and waste of all kinds at the Wailoaloa beach area.

This is very sad indeed.

I have, on a few occasions, seen fibreglass boats owned by some of the country’s five-star resorts and hotels anchor out by the beachfront to illegally offload their rubbish at the same spot.

I personally feel that the environment teams of these resorts and hotels must take responsibility to come to the beach and clear away their garbage.

I know of the boatmen who transport these garbage bags and the resorts and hotels they work for.

I have no hesitation to expose the information if they do not stop dumping on our backyard.

Now that I own a latest mobile phone I will take pictures of the boats and their employees and direct it to the relevant authorities, and even put it up on Facebook.

Very sad indeed!
