Fiji Times Thursday 13 April 2017 HEAVILY reliant on the tourism industry, seven villages on Nacula Island in the Yasawa Group are working with 16 resorts, developing projects that will benefit villagers.
Nacula district spokesperson Saimoni Naivalu said the first program organised in partnership with the resorts was a fundraising carnival.
“We want to raise money for the beautification of villages in the Nacula district so that we are able to host tourists that visit our nearby resorts,” he said.
“For many years now we’ve had these resorts around our communities but our villages don’t realise the progress we’ve made in the tourism industry.” Read more…
