Fiji Sun, 22 March – Proactive intervention of mediation services resulted in the decrease in strikes, said the Minister for Employment, Industrial Relations and Productivity Jone Usamate.
While speaking in Parliament yesterday, Mr Usamate said mediation was consistent with the duty and principles of good faith under the Employment Relations Promulgation 2007 and Code of Good Faith for Collective Bargaining 2008.
