Fiji Times Thursday 25 May 2017 RELATIVELY considered an untouched nirvana in terms of tourism, the Yasawa Group of islands is one of the more unique destinations tourism in Fiji has to offer.
And one of the properties that have captialised on the “experience like no other” tag associated with the region is Barefoot Manta Island.
Located on Drawaqa Island, this small, rustic property falls under the Barefoot Collection brand, which also manages Barefoot Kuata Island.
For Barefoot Manta, one of the key selling points of the resort is the ability to charm tourists using natural resources surrounding the property.
And this is what keeps guests returning, says outgoing resort manager Robyn Heymans.
“We’ve been going pretty well and we’ve noticed that since this year, I would say the beginning of last month we have seen a fantastic increase in numbers and I have definitely seen a lot more tourists coming in to the Yasawas in the last two months,” she said.
“A lot of it has to do with the American summer holidays coming up and a lot of students from America are coming up and doing volunteer programs in Fiji and we, of course, host the volunteers for Vinaka Fiji.” Read more…
