Undeclared goods seized

Fiji Times Saturday 21 October 2017  TWO foreign fishing vessels were rummaged by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) seizing several undeclared goods and livestock.

FRCS chief executive officer Visvanath Das said the fishing vessels were profiled as high risk by Customs officers upon arrival and were searched for smuggled items.

He confirmed that officers from the FRCS maritime compliance team seized undeclared goods which included live dogs, cigarettes, and liquor and R22 gas cylinders which was an ozone depleting substance.

“Our officers notified Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF) regarding the undeclared dogs and handed over the R22 cylinders to Department of Environment.

“Other undeclared items have been detained by Customs.”  Read more…
