Fiji Times, March 19 – In a bid to maximise on the growing visitor arrivals from India, Tourism Fiji has made a key appointment to oversee its activities across India. The tourism marketing arm last week appointed Seema Kadam as its regional manager – India, who will be based in Mumbai and responsible for Tourism Fiji’s activities across India.
According to Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Matthew Stoeckel, the new appointment was the first of many steps they had taken to increase visitor arrivals from India and further promote Fiji within the India market.
The move is also expected to harness the growing visitor arrivals from India, which had rose by 24 per cent over the past three years.
“India is a strategically important market for us and one that has significant potential for sustainable long-term growth,” Mr Stoeckel said.
“We are very pleased to have Seema on the Tourism Fiji team. She is a great fit for the role with proven experience in driving visitor arrivals growth for other destinations.”
A statement from Tourism Fiji said Ms Kadam brought an abundance of knowledge of the travel industry and products as well as great interpersonal and business development skills.
“Having worked and excelled at other international tourism companies such as Switzerland Tourism, where she was the area manager, Seema is well qualified to lead the team in India for Tourism Fiji,” the statement added.
Ms Kadam said: “It feels great to be part of an organisation like Tourism Fiji and I am very excited about the new role. I eagerly look forward to working with the local industry trade partners.”
