Tourism Fiji Greater China Hosts Forum and  Roadshow

Chengdu, 28 November 2019 – Over 16 suppliers and 400 frontline travel agents participated in Tourism Fiji’s Forum, Showcase and Roadshow which were held in four significant cities in China from 25-28 November.

A record lineup of 16 industry partners participated in the event including Blue Pacific Holidays, Captain Cook Cruises, Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, Island Hoppers, Island Travel Network, Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, Joyce Aviation, Marriott International Fiji, Matamanoa Island Resort, Nalagi Hotel, Pullman Nadi Bay Resort and Spa Fiji, Rosie Holidays, Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Southern Star Travel, Tour Managers, and Yasawa Island Resort. Hundreds of travel and trade professionals attended these events for training, networking and product updates.

Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Matthew Stoeckel said, “As the destination’s fourth largest source market, China plays a significant role in driving Fiji’s overall visitor arrivals.

Educating travel agents on Fiji’s products and experiences is key to ensure they have the knowledge to sell the destination to their clients.”

This year, Tourism Fiji included a forum and one to one training with trade partners to its annual roadshow. It gives the trade partners and Fiji’s industry partners extensive opportunities to build contacts and strengthen business relationships.

The Greater China roadshow also provided Fijian industry partners with the opportunity to update local buyers about Fiji’s products and market Fiji as the most desirable island paradise for Chinese travellers.

“Over 400 travel and wholesale representatives attended the forum, showcase and roadshow, which demonstrates the significant interest in travel to Fiji and lays a solid foundation for our future cooperation.” said Vincent Zheng, Tourism Fiji Regional Manager of Greater China.

“Fiji has a wealth of diverse tourism products and experiences. Tourism Fiji is working closely with industry partners to deliver outstanding visitor experiences to Chinese tourists. In order to meet current demand we will launch more themed travel products to cater for different traveller groups. “Mr. Zheng added.
