Tour Managers Fiji has announced the appointment of Ms. Alisi Lutu to the position of Business Development Manager. This is in accordance to the company’s policy to provide opportunities for executive positions to our educated Fijians.
“We are delighted to make this appointment as Alisi has experience and knowledge of the Tourism Industry in Fiji and the Pacific Islands. She has served with distinction as Marketing Manager for the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) and Marketing Officer with Tourism Fiji. She has also worked with me during the Tourism Action Group days” said Tour Managers Managing Director, Damend Gounder.
Mr Gounder added that Alisi is a welcome addition to the team and apart from her academic qualifications and experience she brings with her a very pleasant personality which is very pivotal for the staff and industry relations. He further added that the next 5 years was of great importance and the company was finalising its 2020-2025 Strategic Plans with a team of Tourism Professionals from Fiji and abroad.
Ms. Lutu’s role as the Business Development Manager will be to assist the Managing Director to strengthen business development strategies, develop new business and maintain existing business relations, to lead the sales and marketing team in planning, implementation of annual work programmes and to be the liaison for the company to the industry and government.
“This is my first stint in the tourism private sector and working for one of the major inbound tour operators in Fiji is exciting. I am looking forward to working with the dynamic team at Tour Managers and appreciate this opportunity”, said Ms. Lutu.
Ms Lutu holds Post Graduate Diplomas in Development Studies and Tourism & Hospitality as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Marine Affairs from the University of the South Pacific. A tourism and development practitioner, Alisi has over 10 years’ experience in strategic development and planning, project management, public-private sector partnerships, marketing and promotions, niche tourism development and PR & communications.
